This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Finding Bangladesh is a documentary series to spread awareness regarding Bangladesh’s rich heritage, mesmerizing histories and perplexing mythologies.
Different people assign Mr. Fakir to different identities. Officially a student of economics, unofficially one of the world, a filmmaker, a poet, a photographer, a development worker, a feminist, but above all a humanitarian.
Adnan M. S. Fakir completed his Masters in Economics from University of Sussex, UK and recently joined as a lecturer at the Economics and Social Sciences (ESS) department of BRAC University. He is also vastly involved in documentary film-making, currently working on a project titled, “Finding Bangladesh.”
Finding Bangladesh is a documentary series that focuses on the histories, mythologies and legends of pre 1952 Bangladesh. “Finding Bangladesh 2: Tales of the South” is set to come out in the second half of 2014 covering 11 stories, 17 historical sites and a lot of running around.
Previously Mr. Fakir had worked in The Daily Star and other national newspapers as a feature writer. He loves writing poetry with three published books over the last decade
